After School Aide - Tiger Academy

Do you enjoy playing, talking, and reading with elementary-age children to help them learn and grow? Our Tiger Academy Aide position may be the perfect part-time job for you. This position is open to applicants 16 years old and beyond. Our program is run through a partnership with Yamhill-Carlton School District, and aims to provide quality aftercare for children for families in the YC community that includes both play and academic enrichment.

We expect our staff to be educated, kind, loving, fun, professional, and creative.
We currently are look for 1-3 Aides for our program; all shift hours are currently in need of staff.
Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 2:30-5:30pm and on Wednesday open 1:00-5:30p. On some school holidays we offer full day-care from 8am - 5:30pm

​Pay: $15.25 - $17.25 per hour [experience and certification dependent]
Benefits: TA employees may qualify for scholarship funds for future early-childhood, elementary, or continuing education coursework or training.
This position is part-time and usually afternoon hours; you will work closely with the Tiger Academy director. Aides word closely with the director to coordinate all activities for our after-school care and enrichment program. In addition, Tiger Academy often offers full-day care on some 1-day scheduled school holidays. Must be punctual, responsible, and able to multitask and be able to stay calm with many things going on around you.
Responsibilities

Help Check kids in and out of Tiger Academy after school

Help with snack time and activities

Must be able to stay calm and be able to redirect kids

Must pass a background check and fingerprinting

Pass recognizing and reporting child abuse and neglect class

Obtain First Aid CPR card
Working Conditions/Demands

Must be able to lift and carry up to 30lbs.​

Education - Experience - License/Certification:
-
High school or equivalent (Preferred, applicants must be at least 16)

Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)

CPR Certification & First Aid (Preferred)

YCTC will pay for a qualified adult candidate to receive training and certification for Certified Child Care Center as Aide II or Teacher.

YCTC operates the YC Community Center and develops programs for youth and families in the Carlton and Yamhill area. The majority of our time, energy and funds are focused on providing youth with useful roles in the community, safe and healthy activities to participate in, and good role models.
